DETOUR: Segment 6 from Rivers Edge to Douglas State Park has a detour due to a road closing of Ironstone Street that should be taken right onto, just happened and will be in effect through race. This road is after you cross over Blackstone on Central Street. You will continue on Central Street until you take right onto Buxton Street, to East Ironstone Road then continue with new Strava route.

Feel free to share with teammates that haven't registered yet. Please have all team members register prior to Monday September 22nd as we need shirt sizes, meal choices, meal tickets, etc. Shirts availability is based on sizes prior to September 4th but we will do our best.

Packet pickup(bibs, pins, boat decals, shirts, etc) is either Friday September 26th from 5-7 or Saturday at check in (starting at 7am) both at Whitin Community Center. Captains let us know which day will be picked up but if changed please let us know. Only need one person from team to pickup for whole team.

Equipment drop off at transition sites is starting at 7am on Saturday the 27th. 

We will sent out final reminders late next week to everyone as well.

Lots of information below but all important details:

1. Package pickup and Starting Line:

Whitin Community Center, 60 Main Street, Whitinsville, MA. Parking lot off Hill Street.
 

1. Signs have gone up for segments with GC arrows. That said they are already being taken down or changed, especially in Douglas State Forest section. We will try to correct and add over the next few days but please remember it’s the team’s responsibility to make sure they know the route ahead of time. The arrows should only be reminders.
2. All segments are on Strava. Links on Greenway Website. You can get the links without having a login. If you wish to get turn by turn or use the GPS feature you will need to download the app. Account is free. You can save the segments to your account for easy access. You can print the step by step on a computer and using the “print” feature.
3. Packet pickup is at the Whitin Community Center on Friday from 5-7pm in the Gymnasium or at the starting line. You would have indicated which you prefer at registration. Please, if you said Friday but changed your mind let us know so we don’t wait around for you Friday night. The packet contains all team members bibs, pins, boat decals, shirts (if met deadline). Only need a captain or one team member to pick up. There will be other items in there as well for everyone.
4. Starting line Saturday-Team representative must check in to confirm present, pick up their packet if didn’t on Friday and get slap bracelet. You will enter the community center from the patio entrance on the side of building (left side from parking lot). There will be signs. Starting line is on Main Street in from of the community center. The slap bracelet will be passed from person to person at transition site to mark the start of the next leg. If for some reason it is lost during race, not an issue just tap hands to make the pass off. Please remember that the whole course areas are still open to the public and to follow all police and volunteer directions. 
5. Please make sure the the first segment individual is at Main Street in front of building for the start at 8:30am promptly. Police will stop traffic on Main Street to start race.
6. All three transition sites will have someone there for equipment drop off at 7am Saturday. Please note: Teams are responsible for their own equipment, and these are not secure sites. You should make arrangements for any equipment that needs to be moved, and all equipment should be gone after the segment is complete as volunteers will be leaving.
7. After the start each segment will end at transition site timing table. Please make sure your bib number is visible to the timing team at the end of each segment. There are no additional check ins at transition sites.
8. There is only a cut-off time for the end of segment six (bike to Douglas State Forest) which is 2:30pm and last 2 segments. If a team does not make it to Douglas by 2:30pm. They are no longer eligible to place. They can choose to finish the race however and/or send teammates out for their segment.  
9. Please note for Douglas State Park that anyone coming in will have to identify themselves as a Greenway individual as regular parking fees apply to everyone else.
10. There will be a Sag Wagon following the last racer and sweeping the course. This is just to make sure everyone made it off the course. If a team member encounters an issue during race and can’t continue please contact Heather Elster by phone so we can let segments know. 508-277-6641
11. Awards will be given out after the race at 4:30pm. This time may be pushed back depending on the number of teams that have finished at that time.
12. Meal vouchers for participates can be picked up at finish line tent. Each participant must pick up their own. Meal voucher is good for one entrée (cheeseburger, grilled cheese or veggie burger), banana, chips, cookie and a drink. Additional food can be purchased directly from food vendor. Please note that we have provided how many people indicated vegetarian at registration to the food vendor for participants and volunteers. They will have some extra for family members. They also will have a limited number of gluten free buns.
13. There will be a Greenway Celebration and recognition banquet on October 23rd 6pm at Wrights Farm. All participants and volunteers are welcome to come regardless of the race results. This will be a night of comradery. Guests are invited but must pay $30 fee.  Be safe. Follow the rules of the road and any and all directions given by the police officers. Be courteous to our volunteers. They are here to help, and we cannot do the race without them.
